关系副词when, where和why引导定语从句。在定语从句中分别作时间、地点和原因状语。

1. when指时间：I still remember the day when I first came to Beijing.

September is the month when students go back to school.

2. where指地点：This is the house where I lived two years ago.

That is the school where I studied 10 years ago.

The factory where he worked was built in 1940.

3. why指原因，用在reason后：The reason why he was late is that the car broke down on the way.

That's the reason why I wrote to him.
